'Just a short note to say thanks so very much for assessing Gillian and for the very helpful guidance provided. It was a relief to hear that her potential ability is so much greater than the level she is currently operating at. For some time now I have thought that she was under-achieving but needed validation that I wasn't pushing her too hard in my effort to bring her up to speed. It was also very important for her to hear from an independent source that she is a bright girl as I don't think she ever really believed it before now. Already she appears more confident in her ability.
As suggested, we have stepped up her reading. She is taking this seriously. With a lot of hard work and a bit of good fortune, we are hopeful that we will be successful in getting her into a good school in year 7.'
